Hi All! It's kinda crazy around here at home. My sweet husband is out of the hospital. However, we are experiencing a new life change. We are getting used to eating 3 meals, taken meds and checking blood sugar at certain times per day. Plus he is wearing a life vest to record his heart beat/rate. On the up side, I did bring him home; he is alive, thank you Jesus. So....while he was cooped up in the hosp bed, I did some searching for craft sites/blogs and found a couple I deemed really good to bookmark for future reference. Do you own a Sizzix or it's on your wish list? Check out their blog for tips on fabric, paper, jewelry and etc. craft ideas, and tips. Check out the Giveaways - link is on the left under Categories. Christmas Wooden Letter Cubes While looking through some older photos on one of my external hard drives, I came across the second quilt I made in 2008. It was for my daughter; she wanted her bedroom in patriotic decor. Here's the photo. I'm working on a pin wheel quilt in between the Chrismas gifts I'm making. I'll post a photo when its completed.

I have also provided a PDF of the pattern below so you can download. Easy Reversible Boot Cuffs Materials: L Hook Yarn: Medium 4 Worsted Weight; 2 Skeins in two colors or solids (I used Red Heart Classic, Soft Navy and Frosty Green) Yarn Needle Scissors Work with two strands of yarn. Do not turn at beginning of each row. Gauge does not matter in this pattern. Do keep your tension consistent throughout. You can decrease the beginning chain by 2 chains for smaller calves. Or chain and measure around the calf intended for the cuffs. Count your chains and make a note. Stitches: Ch - Chain FPDC - Front Post Double Crochet HDC - Half Double Crochet RSC – Reverse Single Crochet SL ST – Slip Stitch Make 2 Beginning at bottom edge: Chain 34, join with a sl st to form a ring, being careful not to twist chain. Row 1: Ch 2, HDC in each chain around. Join to top of ch 2 with a sl st. Do not turn. Row 2: Repeat Row 1. Row 3: Ch 3, FPDC around each HDC in previous row. Moogly has an excellent tutorial for the front post and back post stitch on her blog. Click here to review it. Row 4 & 5: Repeat Row 1. Row 6: Repeat Row 3. Row 7: Repeat Row 1 Row 8: Ch 1, RSC in each stitch around. Instead of crocheting to the left as you were, you will sc backwards towards the right. Insert hook in stitch to right of hook. (Opposite for left handed) I have included a slide show for instructions. See below. Sl st to ch 1. Fasten off, weave in tails. A tutorial for The Invisible Fasten Off by Stitch Story Wala! I did my research on online shops to sell crafts and Etsy won for me. I'd see more of a profit from them. If you are deciding to sell online, just search in your browser for: sell crafts online. Check them all out and decide which one is best for you and your products. It did take some time (almost all day) to set up my shop; resize the photos, add details, fill out all the policies and etc. But I'm pretty happy with it, for now. As I get more accustomed to Etsy, I know I'll revamp my shop. So without further delay here's my shop: Bickys And one of my crochet creations! I have been crocheting for many years. Always gifts for friends and family; afghans, winter beanies and scarves. When I started a crochet class at my church, I fell in love with crocheting cowls. Cowls are very popular and a hat or headband to match is a great accessory to you wardrobe. Very soon I'll share some crochet patterns I created. Until then have a great day and keep crafting! |
